How I Have Avoided the Freshman 15!

Hey Everyone! Today I thought I would talk to you about how I avoided gaining the freshman fifteen. I am currently wrapping up my first year of college, and have actually lost a little bit of weight since I have been on campus. But, enough rambling, let's get into how to avoid the freshman fifteen. *Disclaimer: These tips will not work for everyone, and I am not a doctor. I did not come into college worried about gaining weight or wanting to lose weight, these are more just things I have done to try to keep myself physically healthy, which may have also helped me not gain weight. You should never do anything that could hurt yourself (like skipping meals or not eating as much as you need to in order to feel full) just to lose weight.* Walk... ALOT I live on campus and for my university and I think most universities that means I walk, or ride my bike pretty much EVERYWHERE. No joke, I walk over eight miles at least two days a week, and that is just going to my differe...

How I Study- My Study Tips!

Hey Everyone! I want to talk to you guys today about how I study. I know that a lot of students do not have to study much in high school and then when they reach college they either find that they do not know how to study or it takes them a little bit to adjust to how they need to study in college. So, I have made it through my first semester of college and learned a few things about studying, so today I thought that I would share some of my tips for you. *Disclaimer- I am not claiming that these techniques will work for everyone, I am just sharing what has worked for me with you.* Tip #1 Do Not Wait Until the Last Minute to Study! Am I saying that you will not pass if you cram? No. I am just saying that it will keep you from getting really stressed out. Especially if you have multiple exams the next day. What I have found that works the best for me is when I study as I learn things, and add in the new stuff as I go. Let me explain, but my study technique kind of leads in...

How I Balance My Academic and Personal Life?!

Hey Everyone! I hope that everyone is having a great week! Today, I thought that I would have a more casual talk with you all. For me personally, I love getting to sit down and just talk to you guys because it is relaxing. So today, I've popped some popcorn, and curled up on the couch with a nice warm blanket to catch up on some YouTube videos, and I thought that I would just kind of have a pretty laid back chat with you guys about how I balance my academic and personal life. So, before I babble on anymore, let's get into it! So, last semester I took 19 credit hours worth of classes because I am trying to get out of school with a double major a year early (but that is a topic for another post), and will be taking 19 credit hours this semester as well. Last semester I was also in 4 clubs, and was still able to have time to go have fun with friends, here is how I juggled it all. My Planner Last semester I used a planner, desk calendar, wall calendar, and my phone c...

My Backpack Essentials- What I Keep in my Backpack to Survive Classes!

Image
Hey Everyone! Today I thought I would talk to you about what I keep in my backpack to survive the school day. For those of you who do not know, I am a college student, who lives on campus and walks to all of my classes. Some days, I do not have time to go back to my room as often as I would like to, but throughout the last semester I have learned exactly how I like my back pack to be organized and the things that I like to keep in my backpack to make my days in class just a little bit brighter. I love these posts because you never really get to look through someone's backpack randomly. Also, in the pictures I have, not everything is in my backpack because I was home for break when I took the pictures, but if you would like to see an updated post later on this semester I can take more pictures. So, let's jump into what's in my backpack. About my Bag I have a Northface Recon, and I love it! You can check out this backpack  here . I am not going to review the bag i...

Dorm Room Essentials- What You Really Need to Survive Freshman Year in the Dorms!

Hey Everyone! So, I have survived my first year of college living in the dorms. When I was packing, I can remember looking through a countless number of lists full of "dorm room essentials" and I must say, that while I over packed, those lists were going to have me packing things that I did not need and would not use. These sort of things ate things that you want to avoid in a dorm room because there is not a lot of space, so you want more for the essentials. Today I am going to be sharing my essentials with you. If you have any questions about uses just let me know. and items with an "*" around them depend on your school and your preference. Also, make sure to check your school's prohibited items online, and most schools also offer a packing list that is  a great starting point on their website. Also, try to have an idea on how your room is going to be laid out and how you think you want to organize things in advance. And only take the essentials on move in d...

Fourteen Things I Wish I Would've Known Going in to my Freshman Year of College

Hey Everyone! Today I thought I would share with you five things I wish I would have known going in to my freshman year of college. I will be a sophomore this January at my University, and I can remember doing a TON of research going in to my first semester of college. And, I read a ton of articles ranging from "dorm room essentials" to "advice to my freshman self" and spoiler alert- I did not need nor pack half of the "essentials" on that list, and a lot of the advice I read I had already known or considered common sense. So, while I am not going to touch on the dorm room or college essentials in this post, because that can be its own, rather lengthy post. However, today I am going to be sharing the top fourteen things I wish I would have known going into my freshman year of college. And, I'm just warning you now, I am going to keep it as real as possible with you. These are in no particular order,  just in the order they come to my mind in. #1 Ev...
